Meg Perry is also a fine seamstress and she makes purses, pillows, aprons
and bibs with vintage materials, trims and laces.
Home is a cottage built
in the 1880's in the Dakota Hills of North Central Kansas where she
like to say, "You can still hear the earth breathe". Her yard
is filled with heirloom plants as well as newly planted perennials and
annuals, all cultivated with loving care. When not in the garden, Meg
is in her store/studio creating her signature botanical art as well
as many other unusual and unique items. When you are in the area, come
visit Meg at Blackberry Mercantile, in rural Clay County, Kansas.
In 2007, Meg decided her tiny town needed an Arts and Crafts fair to
celebrate the rural surroundings. Thus began the Middle of Nowhere Fair
that now takes place in the late Spring and early Fall. The Fair specializes
in Kansas made products and Arts & Crafts.
Nov. 8, 2008
